Sooner or later most website owners will consider writing ezine articles as a method of driving more traffic to their websites. Having ezine articles published is the best online free promotional resource available.

If you can write an interesting article, you can have it published on article directory websites with a link back to your website. Anyone who reads your article and finds the content interesting can use the link to click through to your website to look for further information.

Writing and publishing articles is also a good way to help your website visitors to get to know you. Reading articles you have written will help people to decide in advance if they might be interested in the products or services offered at your website.

However, even webmasters who fully appreciate the potential benefits of writing ezine articles, still baulk at the idea of actually writing their own articles. I have seen people with no previous experience of the Internet, start their first online business and learn step by step all about building websites, choosing affiliate products, online advertising and even advanced html coding. They take the learning of these new skills in their stride but, when someone suggests they write articles, they won't even give it a try.

Writing articles for ezines is not difficult, it is mostly a matter of practising; the hardest article you will ever have to write is the first one, after that it just keeps on getting easier. If webmasters approached the subject of article writing the way they approach learning html or any of the other things they have taught themselves since they got their first website, they would soon find themselves writing articles as a matter of course. They would find out that there are many online resources to help them get started and to improve their article writing skills.

Learn To Write Articles - Reason 1: Content Is King

Anyone who wants to make money online should learn how to write articles. There are several reasons why writing articles is important, but today I'm going to focus on just one aspect of article writing: using articles as website content.

You've heard it before, but here it is again: "content is king". If you want your website to appear in the organic search engine results, you will need to make sure it contains pages of valuable unique content. The foremost reason people use the internet is because they are looking for information. As a website owner, you are a provider of information and, the better the information you provide, the more the search engines will favour you.

If you are not accustomed to writing, you probably think you are not capable of writing decent informative articles to publish on your website or blog. If you are really unable to write your own articles, all is not lost: you could hire a ghost writer to write articles to order or you could buy PLR (Private Label Rights) articles. Having articles ghost-written to your order is the better solution but can be expensive.

If your budget won't support paying a ghost-writer, buying good PLR articles would be your only real option. There are two points to note here:

1. When I say "good" PLR articles, I mean the expensive kind which are sold on a limited edition basis. Don't waste your money on cheap PLR articles that read as if they had been written by an inebriated foreigner, and are available to thousands of people to buy.

2. PLR articles should not be used just as they come, they should be re-written to at least some extent (I have seen 25% quoted as the minimum re-write requirement, although more is better) and, if you really don't want to do any writing, this is not much of a solution for you.

It is far better to learn how to write articles, and I believe almost anyone with normal literacy skills should be capable of producing reasonable articles with a little effort and some practice.

Why do people shy away from writing articles? The first stumbling block is that writing articles is not a normal activity for most people once they have left school or university. Most of us never have to write anything longer than a grocery list or a greeting in a birthday card, and writing articles is a skill we have to learn from scratch.

Let's look at learning to write articles. If you search online, you will find plenty of articles on the subject of learning article writing. Writing your own original articles and having them published at article directories is the top method of free internet advertising. Writing short articles is not difficult: anyone who can spell, has a reasonable grasp of grammar and is capable of writing a letter or posting a coherent message on an internet forum should be able to write articles. The problem many people find lies in getting started. For many people lack of confidence in their writing ability stops them from making an attempt at article writing. Other people don't believe they have anything to say on any subject that might interest the public. These doubts are perfectly understandable when you consider that most webmasters have not written anything like an article since they left school or university.
