Make Money Online Without Spending Any
Free Trial Offers And Scams

When you are looking for a way to make money online without spending any, you are sure to be attracted by offers of free or reduced fee membership of work at home opportunities
It is very common for companies to offer free or low cost trials of their products or services. You will probably have seen offers of this type advertised for all kinds of things. For instance, credit card companies often offer an interest free introductory period; phone companies frequently offer low cost introductory packages when you sign up for a fixed term contract, and magazine publishers commonly offer hefty reductions in fees for new subscribers. If you like the look of the product or service on offer, you will sign up for the free or reduced cost trial and consider that you have found a bargain.

That’s how these free trial/reduced cost introductory offers work offline in the “real” world. Why is it that similar offers found on the internet are so often labelled “scams”? You will see this occurring over and over again, particularly on internet forums where people are free to make any allegations they please even if those allegations are completely unfounded. I have just finished reading a long discussion about a company I have dealt with quite happily, and it irked me to read the unjustified nasty comments and allegations of scam.

The background is not unusual: the company offers a low cost trial period of introductory membership. New members are given a seven day trial period to test out what is on offer. At the expiry of the trial, they have to cancel their membership or they will be charged the full monthly fee for membership. Does this sound any different to any introductory offers you have seen recently? To me it seems utterly standard. However, the people who contributed to the internet forum discussion I was reading, clearly see things differently.

There were two main reasons stated for declaring the offer to be a scam:

1. Forgetting to cancel the deal when the concessionary term expired.

2. Thinking the product on offer was not worth the full price.

Do you think those are valid reasons for calling a company a scam and its owner a crook? I must say, I don’t.

Take reason number 1: If you have a faulty memory and don’t bother to use a calendar or some other reminder system, the only person you can legitimately blame is yourself. If you miss a plane because you forgot the departure time, would you publicly denounce and abuse the airline? Most people would know who was to blame, and keep quiet in the hope than their friends and family will hurry up and forget the embarrassing incident.

As for reason number 2: The whole point of giving a free or low cost “taster” is so people can find out if they like a product without having to pay full price for it. If your local supermarket gives you a new cake to taste and you don’t like it, do you have a hissy fit in the store and run round telling all the customers the new cake is not worth the price on the ticket. Most people would be glad they had the chance to get to try it free of charge, and would quietly exercise their right not to buy the item in future.

These introductory offers can be very useful; you can try out products and services you would never have experienced if the only way to get them was by paying the full price. It is a very straightforward system: all you have to do is remember to cancel the deal at the right time or make sure you have funds in place to cover the fees as and when they become due.
