Starting An Internet Business - The Importance Of Exercising The Double "P"To make a success of an Internet business, you will need high levels of patience and persistence. If we are being picky, these are two attributes but, they are so tightly linked you can't see a glimmer of light between them. The two P's are so close, they look like eager competitors for an Internet three-legged race. I treat the P's as one entity, it just seems too cruel to separate them. Statistics show that 95% of people starting an Internet business fail in their endeavour. Many of these Internet businesses fail within a matter of weeks. To have the best chance of success when starting an Internet business, you need patience in abundance and the persistence of a terrier because success does not happen overnight, it takes time and effort to build a successful Internet business and the process cannot be rushed. If success is coming your way, it will arrive in its own time. It is true that starting an Internet business is easier than starting an offline business. It is true that starting an Internet business is cheaper than starting an offline business. It is true that the Internet pace of life is fast, change is frequent and keeping pace is essential to the survival of an Internet business. Success, however, can be slow to arrive. You are almost certain to make mistakes. You will probably suffer disappointments, particularly if you started out with unrealistic expectations of what starting an Internet business would involve. There might be times when you feel you are slipping backwards instead of climbing upwards towards success. Patience and persistence are essential for you to keep working steadily towards your goals despite the trials you have to face and the obstacles you need to overcome along the way. If you are starting an Internet business with a limited budget, you won't be able to buy every time saving tool you see advertised, you won't be able to afford to pay for things. You will need to spend time working with free resources and learning to do things yourself. For example, if you want to make changes to your website, you won't be able to afford to hire a programmer, you will have to learn how to do it yourself. Sometimes lack of funds will mean you have to perform the same monotonous tasks day after day and you will need to expend a fair amount of patience and persistence before you start to see measurable results. Patience and persistence do pay off and, if you started out with a sufficient amount of the two P's, they won't wear out: they will become stronger the more you exercise them.
