More Home Business IdeasHave you managed to decide what kind of home business would be right for you? Don't worry if you haven't, it's worth taking time to find exactly the right thing for you. Never just jump into something that doesn't feel exactly right. When I was trying to decide what sort of home business would be suitable for me to start, I had a brainstorming session with my friend, Christina, when we were both desperately trying to think of a way out of our boring jobs. We knew we did not want to just find new jobs working for somebody else but that was about the extent of what we knew. We had no idea at all about what future we could build for ourselves. About the only thing that was certain was that we needed to earn money. We came up with all sorts of ideas for starting a home business (you can see our list here) but, although some of the ideas seemed practical and possible, none of them immediately made us think "Yes, that's the one for me". If you start out the way we did, wanting to be your own boss but with no burning ambition to do a particular thing, it can be hard to visualise yourself in one business or another. I could not imagine myself as a window cleaner even though it seems that window cleaners can make a lot of money and retire early. The golf courses are full of young ex-window cleaners but I couldn't cope with working high up on a ladder. I could not imagine Christina being a gravestone cleaner even though it was her idea: she is just too girly and manicured (mind you, she is not afraid of heights and I am). Neither of us fancied selling cosmetics or lingerie. An awful lot of thinking went on at this stage before I stumbled across my particular home business niche and got my Plug-in Profit Site . Once you have decided upon your type of business, you need to look at the cost of start up and running. I deliberately left this out of my list of "vital" considerations because I do not believe the cost should influence your initial thinking. If you choose a business only because it would be cheap to start up, you will very likely find yourself as unhappy as you would have been if you carried on working for a boss. Experience the desire and envisage the possibilities before you start looking at potential problems. Remember, problems are for solving! If you are going to become your own boss, you should at least give yourself a job you'll enjoy. Decide upon your niche and, if you want success badly enough, you will raise the necessary finance somehow, even if it means working a second job for a while, getting a bank loan or begging from relatives. Have the courage to live your dream and the sense to work out your budget before you invest a single penny. Click here to find out what happens next. |
