Greetings and Happy New Year.

Networkers' Calendar has been out of circulation for a whole year, but there's no better time to relaunch than New Year's Day. So, here we are back with a new format. It is getting colder in London and the forecasters are now threatening ice and maybe snow. The undoubted advantages of working at home are even more obvious when you hear that sort of forecast. Does anyone love their boss so much they want to commute in winter?

For at least the next few issues, I intend to include articles to help people who are still looking for ways to make money at home. We still have the free resources section and, from next month on, I will be publishing additional articles relating to affiliate marketing. For this month, though, we have just one article (Richard, if you read this, you will find the answer to your email!).

"I Want To Make Money Online But I Can't Make Up My Mind!"

The other day, I received an email from a person (Richard) who described himself as an Internet newbie who is willing to learn new things. He had obviously been doing his homework and had narrowed his choice down to three programs he found at my Work At Home Directory website, but he wanted help to decide which work at home opportunity would be best for a complete novice. Unfortunately, my reply to his email bounced, so rather than waste the information, I have incorporated the advice into an article in the hope that it might help someone struggling with a similar decision. This was my advice:

My Credit Card Cash is the cheapest option of the three as you can take a month's trial for the price of just one dollar. During the month's trial you have access to all the training materials as well as the custom-built website and you can earn commissions at the full rate. I would also say it is the easiest to learn because you are dealing with one type of product promoted through a single website. It offers an in-demand product from legitimate sources and full training is provided. This is a good program for a newbie because you can take advantage of all the training and spend a whole month working at Internet marketing. Then, if you find you hate the whole idea of an online business, you can walk away without losing anything apart from the dollar you paid for having the website set up.

SFI offers a month's free trial. SFI is a solid company with excellent training resources and a wide choice of products. There are over 600 products ranging from environmentally sound cleaning products to wireless telephone services. You can read my full SFI Review for further information. You can choose to focus on marketing the products and/or promoting the SFI opportunity. Most people promote the opportunity as well as one or more of the individual products. SFI gives each affiliate a personal "PATH" (which stands for Personalized Affiliate Training Homepage) which will lead you through step by step training. If you take up the free trial, you can have a good look at the training materials (by the way, don't miss the article archives) and check out the level of help available on the forum.

Of the three programs you have picked out, the Plug-in Profit Site would be the most challenging, but would offer the best training in Internet marketing and the biggest income potential. The trick to getting the best out of the Plug-in Profit Site is to follow the training sticking to the free alternatives. The training includes recommendations for both free and paid for resources and it is tempting to start spending money right from the start in the hope of speeding up your progress. It is far better if you can exert some patience in the early stages because you have a lot to learn. If you use only free resources while you are "learning the trade", you can make the most of the training without finding yourself seriously out of pocket. Then, when you know what you are doing, you can make an informed choice about where to use your advertising budget.

The choice is between three good programs, each with different advantages. The choice of which one to try out really depends upon how much you are willing to learn, how much time you are prepared to spend working, and what level of cash investment you are prepared to make.

If you want to make money online, you have a wide choice of work at home programs to choose from. In some ways this wide choice is an advantage: it means that there is a program to suit just about anyone who wants to make money online working from home. Sometimes, however, the amount of choice means you are left with a short-list of possible work at home programs you just can't choose between. I hope this article helps with what can be one of the most important decisions you will ever make.

Send me your articles
If you would like to see your own article published here, just email it to me here
I will consider articles on any aspect of making money at home, running an Internet based home business and general work at home topics. As long as your article is interesting and contains no inappropriate material (no adult, hate etc), I will be happy to publish it. Please note, though, that I won’t publish anything which is just a disguised advertisement!
