Greetings from a grey London Town. Christmas cards posted, tree trimmed, parcels wrapped and here we are, just a couple of days short of Christmas Day and this is the last issue of Networkers' Calendar for 2005. Time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2006!
A few days ago, I was driving along a quiet road early in the morning. There had been a very hard frost and the fields were completely white, so we had the impression of a snowy landscape with none of the inconvenience of snow on the roads. The sun was a brilliant copper glow and, as it was rising, it turned the trees the sort of gold colour you only usually see on branches in florists' shop windows. I was beginning to feel quite Christmassy when the news came on the radio that a pair of newborn baby twin girls had been found (alive but suffering from the effects of cold) in a cardboard box in a car park in the night. What a start in life! So sad for the little girls. What will they think as they grow up? I wonder what pressures could have driven the mother to abandon her babies in these circumstances. Every year for the rest of her life, the run up to Christmas will never be a happy time as it will represent the anniversary of the loss of her babies.
Remember how lucky you are when you hug your family and enjoy your holidays. If you can afford even a small amount, how about making a donation to a charity - better still, how about adopting a charity as your own project and making regular donations. We are fortunate to be in a position to give something back.
December has been a busy time online for me, in fact it has been a busy year. I just started reading a Dean Koontz book and realised that it has been sitting waiting for me since my birthday in August or maybe even since last Christmas. As reading has always been my great passion, this is not a good sign. Must make a resolution to get a life away from my PC.
This month's finds started with a great new free viral advertising source called AdsVert. These are text ads that look like PPC ads but, they are free, you earn credits by showing other members' ads. This is taking off fast - I had a downline before I had finished composing my own ad!
Stormpay have reduced their fees by over 50% for people who are Net IBA certified. It feels good to have the certification button on my website and I saved the year's membership fee within 48 hours, all it took was a payment from 12 Daily Pro. 12 Daily Pro is still going strong and attracting new members. I have two upgrade packages timed to expire every 6 days which means I get paid my commissions earlier - sometimes only a day after they are credited.
On the subject of autosurfing for cash, I am about to add Carbfreehits and Gottalotta Hits to my Autosurf Review. All the other programmes are continuing to pay out. Aussie Earners are still behind on payouts due to the months and months of problems with hackers, software etc but I have every confidence in Chery, the owner, and believe that she will get the programme back to normal if we remain patient. This month I received another $50 from Aussie Earners as promised. I realise it is easy for me to be patient as I only have a few hundred dollars at stake and it is different for the people who are waiting on thousands but I don't mind waiting for payments to be brought up to date if this supports an honest owner like Chery: we need people like her to counteract the scammers and villains trying to steal our money online.
The big thing I joined this month is Our Power Forced Matrix . This is an exciting new programme that gives you a legitimate way to have a second account at Empowerism.
In November's issue I mentioned Submit YOUR Article and thought I'd give it another mention today in case you missed it in the last issue. I have been using this service myself for several months and have been 100% satisfied with it.
Also mentioned last month was the new book from Stone Evans (in case you don't know, he invented the Plug-in Profit Site) Dotcomology. It is an in depth study of the art of making money online. "What's the moral of the story?" asked the teacher.
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket!"
"Very good," said the teacher.
Next little Sarah raised her hand and said, "Our family are farmers too. But we raise chickens for the meat market.
We had a dozen eggs one time, but when they hatched we only got ten live chicks, and the moral to this story is, "don't count your chickens before they're hatched."
"That was a fine story Sarah. Michael, do you have a story to share?"
"Yes, my daddy told me this story about my Aunt Karen.
Aunt Karen was a flight engineer in the Gulf War and her plane was hit.
She had to bail out over enemy territory and all she had was a bottle of whisky, a machine gun and a machete.
She drank the whisky on the way down so it wouldn't break and then she landed right in the middle of 100 enemy troops.
She killed seventy of them with the machine gun until she ran out of bullets.
Then she killed twenty more with the machete until the blade broke. Then she killed the last ten with her bare hands."
"Good heavens," said the horrified teacher, "what kind of moral did your daddy tell you from that horrible story?"

Is A Free Home Based Business Opportunity Really Free?

Is it really a free home based business opportunity? Can I make money without paying anything at all? - Those are about the most often repeated queries put forward by people who are hoping to find a way to make money at home online. People who see an advertisement for a free home based business opportunity want to be reassured that "free" means it will never cost them a penny to run their home based business and that they can easily make money at home online without investing anything. I'm amazed they could even start to believe such a thing could be possible.
When people ask me the "is it really free?" type of question, I give them an honest answer. The answer to both question is usually "yes, but…" and they tend to be disappointed and feel that they've been tricked and that the advertisers lied when they offered a free home based business opportunity. It is true that fortunes can be made from a free home based business on the Internet and it can be easy to make money at home online but that is not the whole answer.
I am completely anti-hype but I don't think all Internet advertising is as misleading as people often claim. If you consider the average Internet advertisement, its wording is no worse than the standard "up to 50% off" claims we take for granted in offline advertising. We know that only a selected few items will actually be reduced by 50% and we don't feel at all cheated if we find a bargain with just 20% off its usual price. The thing is, people see things differently when they are searching the Internet for ways to make money at home online, their expectations are far higher, they are more willing to believe improbable claims and their disappointment is, therefore, quick and keenly felt..
If you tried to tell the same people that they could make money at home with an offline business without incurring any costs, they would laugh you out of the auditorium. However, the Internet is a strange environment and people need to get acclimatised before they can recognise a legitimate way to make money at home online and to understand what is "free" in the context of a free home based business opportunity. After just a small amount of experience, people will realise that the free home based business opportunity is going to cost them money one way or another if they want to see profits accumulating at any significant rate. The ones who persevere also eventually realise that the cost of running a free home based business online is far less than the cost of running an offline business.
Let's think seriously about starting a business. First, how about an offline business. Suppose you decide you want to open a shop and sell dresses. Before you see any profit at all, you will have to pay out for premises (rent and taxes), services (fuel, water, phone), stock, insurance and advertising. If you are going to continue with your current employment while you build up the new business, you will also need to find staff and add wages to your list of expenses.
Now let's think about our free home based business opportunity on the Internet. You need to budget for a product (the equivalent of the stock of dresses), a website (the equivalent of the shop premises) and advertising. The list is shorter and now the Internet home based business opportunity is looking like a much better deal by comparison. The products can be obtained either free of charge or for a small price, the cost of a website is small change compared to the cost of premises, this will be a home based business, so you won't incur any additional service charges or insurance. An Internet home based business can be set up to run 24/7 with just a couple of hours work a day, so you can continue to earn money at your currently employment without having to spend anything on staff wages. That just leaves advertising costs.
Advertising your free home based business is the thing that's going to take up the biggest part of your budget. If you were opening your first shop on a limited budget, you would not be able to afford large premises in the prime part of the busiest shopping district where you would benefit from passing trade. You would have to be content with a small side street based shop and, to make customers aware of your business, you would have to advertise. In order to get a steady stream of visitors to your shop, you would need to advertise consistently and continuously. You would need to place your advertisements where they can reach your target market and you would need to make sure your advertisements appeal to your prospective customers so that they would be prepared to make the detour from the main street to check out your products.
The Internet works in the same way. Nobody will know about your new free home based business unless you tell them. You can have the best website in the whole word but, if you don't advertise it, it would be like keeping your shop door locked, the blinds closed and the lights off. No visitors means no potential sales and that inevitably means no profit. You have no advertise, simple as that. There are many free advertising resources available online for your home based business but you need to be selective as, although there are some very good free advertising resources, the results to be obtained from the free companies are not always as good as paid advertising. Another factor to consider is that using the free advertising resources can take up a lot of time and you need to place a value on your time and decide how it can be spent to best effect.
A free home based business opportunity does sound like the ideal thing for the numerous people who are looking for ways to make money at home online but are unwilling or unable to spend any money to do it. Many people leap into the first free home based business opportunity they see advertised and just as quickly give up when they find out they need to invest time and money in order to make money at home online with an Internet based home business. If these people would think things through, they would realise that starting an online home based business is far less costly than starting an offline business and the stage of getting into profit can come very early. Even if a free home based business it is not entirely free to run, being your own boss rather than being someone else's employee is priceless.

How to Work From Home and Enjoy Life

How would you like to have at least an extra hour in your day just for yourself so that you can have more fun? When you work from home there can be a tendency to work longer hours due to the flexibility that you have.
If you work from home, these ideas if implemented consistently will free up your time so that you can enjoy more of your life.
Look After Yourself First
Exercise regularly and eat healthily. Do the right thing by yourself and you'll have heaps of energy, be motivated, more productive and happier.
Surround Yourself with Positivity
Circulate with positive people, read motivational books and listen to motivational tapes/cds while driving, going for a walk or waiting for appointments. Avoid negative people like the plague. They will drain your energy.
Clean out the Clutter
You will save yourself heaps of time, energy, space and money if you clear out your home environment…paperwork, books, old equipment etc. regularly. You'll be able to find things, save money because you won't have to buy what you already have hidden somewhere, plus you'll be less stressed. You'll feel better which will make you happier.
Jazz Up Your Environment
If you work and live in a pleasant environment, you'll naturally feel better and happier. A clean, uncluttered home office makes you feel good and happy to be there.
Dress for Success
When you look good, you feel good, when you feel good you are happier. Have an image makeover. Even though you work from home, if you dress well to suit your lifestyle, it will make a difference to how you and everyone else see you.
Plan Time For Fun
With so much to organise in your busy life you need to record your appointments, things to do and goals somewhere. Use a paper diary or digital organiser that you can take everywhere. This is the most effective way to get things done, plan your work and your life. When you work from home it is easy to get bogged down with work and not have planned time out.
Learn to say "No"
To dramatically improve your productivity and do more of the things you want in your life, you have to be firm with others and let them know if you cannot, will not or are unavailable to fulfil their requests. Neighbours, family and friends can have the mistaken belief that because you work from home you are not really working.
If you constantly say "yes" to everyone else's requests you will never have the time to do what you really want to. Book yourself into a self-assertiveness course to learn these skills if you feel you need to.
Do What You Do Best and Delegate the Rest
See if there are ways you can delegate tasks which would suit someone else's talents. Many people spend heaps of time on mundane secretarial tasks which would take a person who is trained in that area a quarter of the time to undertake.
At home hire a gardener and cleaner to take care of the basic household chores. It's worth investing the extra dollars if you can have more free time to do what you want to.
Compliment Someone Every Day
How do you feel when you receive a compliment? Make someone's day…give before you get because what goes around, comes around. Go out each day, even if it's to the local shops so that you can talk to people.
